This time we want to talk to you about how to create your home studio.

Currently, thanks to technology, you can produce your own music from your home at a very reasonable cost, so we are going to help you create your own home studio, obtaining surprising quality in your musical projects.

Below we detail the main tips to keep in mind:

Acoustics

The acoustics for a home studio are not the same as those of a professional studio. You don't need to condition the room perfectly, but you should consider some recommendations.  You are going to have to soundproof, to prevent the sound you generate from reaching the outside and vice versa.

To do this, we give you the following tips:

- Do not place the monitors near walls or corners.

- Place the tweeters at the height of your ears.

- Form an equilateral triangle between your position and that of the monitors.

- Avoid bare walls, windows and regular surfaces. Use rugs, foam and elements that act as diffusers.

Furniture

For furniture, a desk will be enough. The ideal is to create two heights, to facilitate the placement of the monitors in their correct position and to easily manipulate all the accessories.

PC

The PC is the base component of your home studio, where you will connect the other elements. We recommend, at a minimum: 4GB of RAM, Dual Core processor, a few gigabytes of free memory on your hard drive and some USB connectors.  You are also going to have to decide what audio editing software you will use.

Midi keyboard

It is an option that offers you numerous possibilities. It does not emit any sound itself, but instead sends Midi instructions, which your software will interpret with the sound of the virtual instrument you choose. For musical production it is a highly recommended element.

Interface

The interface allows you to connect any sound source to your PC and make high-level recordings. To start, an interface with two channels will be enough (you can record two tracks simultaneously on different channels).

Microphones

There are millions of microphones for different purposes. In a home studio it is advisable to have a microphone that is versatile, with a good response and good performance. Accompany it with a foot and an antipop.

Other accessories

Once you have the basic components, you can improve your home-studio with other elements, such as a level control for monitors, equalizers, effects processors and headphones, among others.

Monitors

Your monitors will be an essential element in your home studio. The ideal is that you have a pair of speakers with a flat response, to be able to make an objective and homogeneous mix.

At Thonet & Vander we have developed various options and you will find different versions of 2.0 speakers, which vary in power and frequency response.

When choosing your monitors, it is important that you evaluate their connectivity options, so that you not only apply them to your home studio, but that they are versatile enough so that you can also apply them to other everyday uses.

For example, you can use our 2.0 Kurbis BT speakers for your home studio through its two line input options and its Bluetooth connectivity is also added for when you want to listen to music from your Smartphone.

Our 2.0 Vertrag BT Home Cinema, Kugel BT and Titan BT speakers, in addition to the connectivities that we described about the Kurbis BT, incorporate optical input, which allows you to also use them to improve the sound of your Smart TV.
